SOLUTION: This invention relates to the cooling device for an internal combustion engine, in particular, a V-type engine having a radiator 14, a thermostat valve 18 for adjusting an amount of cooling liquid passing through the radiator from cooling liquid outlets 22, 26 in cylinder rows 10, 12 or passing through a bypass detouring the radiator and being refluxed into cooling liquid inlets in the cylinder rows, and at least two cylinder rows. The cooling liquid outlet 22 in the cylinder row 10 on one side is directly connected with an inlet of the radiator 14, the cooling liquid outlet 26 in the cylinder row 12 on the other side is directly connected with a bypass inlet of the thermostat valve 18, and an intermediate conduit 24 is arranged between the bypass inlet of the thermostat valve 18 and the inlet of the radiator 14.
