PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circular knitting machine where a frame with at least three legs is mounted with a needle carrier, a cam box ring surrounding the needle carrier, and a takedown/winding device, specified in the width of the machine by the outer peripheral side ends of the legs extending radially externally from the central axis of the needle carrier, and enabling machine width to be altered without significantly affecting the stability of the machine frame by the use of a relatively cost-effective means. SOLUTION: This circular knitting machine is so designed that at least one of three legs mounted on the frame is made shiftable so as to adjust machine width specified between the outer peripheral side end of the leg and those of the other legs.
