PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire vulcanizing machine which can be made compact and realize the reduction of a manufacturing cost or can grab tires of a wide variety of sizes and a method for manufacturing a tire with the use of the tire vulcanizing machine. SOLUTION: A mold opening/closing machine for a tire vulcanizing machine is provided at the tire vulcanizing machine equipped with a tread mold which is divided into a plurality of segments in the circumferential direction of a tire in order to internally vulcanize an unvulcanized tire and mold the vulcanized tire and a tread mold retainer which retains each of the segments in its axial direction, and opens/closes each of the segments in the radial direction of the tire. In addition, the tread mold retainer has a guide part formed on the horizontal face and can move in the radial direction of the tire along the guide part. |
