PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the working efficiency by simplifying the centering work of a guide rail. SOLUTION: This guide rail centering device is provided with a first gage 12 engaged with a pair of centering piano wires 6a and 6b, engaged with a pair of car guide rails 4a and 4b, and centering the car guide rails 4a and 4b based on the piano wires 6a and 6b, a second gage engaged with balance weight guide rails 5a and 5b and centering the balance weight guide rails 5a and 5b, and a connecting element 14 connecting the first and the second gages 12 and 13 to each other so that the second gage 13 becomes a prescribed position relative to the first gage 12.
