PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing unit with a configuration capable of inexpensively producing a part for transferring compressed data to a thawing circuit. SOLUTION: This printing unit comprises a DMA circuit 12 for outputting a busy signal to a thawing circuit 13 at the time of supplying compressed data stored in a main memory 21 to the thawing circuit 13 or outputting a busy signal in the case the compressed data are not outputted to the thawing circuit 13, and the thawing circuit 13 for executing a thawing operation only at the time a busy signal is not outputted form the DMA circuit.
