PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily carry out switchover between performing and stopping of combustion gas recirculation with a simple constitution, in a combustion gas recycle device for engine which makes combustion gas flow from an inside of a cylinder to an intake side thereby carrying out recirculation. SOLUTION: In the engine in which a valve clearance (clearance) C after completion of warm-up is enlarged compared with the clearance at a time of cold engine, a cam crest 10b for recycle is provided in addition to a normal cam crest 10a for intake air. The cam crest 10b for recycle is set to be higher than a clearance Cc at the time of cold engine, and lower than a clearance Ch after completion of warm-up.
