PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nib capable of obtaining a suitable pen elastic force without changing a shape of the nib, reducing a working cost and having excellent decoration particularly as a high class fountain pen. SOLUTION: The nib comprises a writing section formed at a distal end, a body having a holding section and a bill-like elastic section, a cut and divided part as an ink passage in a direction of a rear end from the distal end of the writing section of the body, and a pen core for storing an ink and guiding the ink. The nib further comprises slits provided at symmetrical positions with respect to the axis of the body on a side face of the elastic section to very the pen elastic force.
