<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin sensor capable of accurately detecting coins having different pattern surfaces and a coin inspection device capable of accurately inspecting the genuineness of the coins having different pattern surfaces. SOLUTION: The coin sensor 1 is arranged to the coin passage 5 of the coin inspection device. The sensor has an exciting coil 10 for generating a magnetic filed in the coin passage, and detectors 11a and 11b for detecting the signal corresponding to a change in a magnetic field generated when the coil is passed through the magnetic field generated in the coin passage by the exciting coil 10. The exciting coil 10 is arranged so that the end 10a1, which has a magnetic pole for generating a magnetic field and has a smaller area, thereof among one end 10a1 and other end 10a2 thereof is allowed to go toward the passage wall of the coin passage. The detectors 11a and 11b are equipped with two magnetic members 13a and 13b arranged in the vicinity of the end having the smaller area at a predetermined interval so as to be electromagnetically coupled with the exciting coil to be turned to the passage wall, and two magnetic detection elements 12a and 12b arranged in the vicinity of the magnetic members to detect the signal obtained corresponding to a change in a magnetic field.</p> |
