PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll pre-treatment apparatus that does not need constant watches by an operator and may continue an automatic treatment without interposition by a person when a roll that cannot be treated automatically or does not need the automatic treatment is charged into the roll pre-treatment apparatus and when a treatment of each apparatus has failed. SOLUTION: The roll pre-treatment system is constituted by a roll warehouse, a mirror finish apparatus for automatically cutting and removing a protection material of the roll supplied from the roll warehouse, a peripheral surface treatment apparatus, a preparation apparatus, and a transmission network for communicating a signal to each apparatus. When warehousing, a roll brand code showing a pre-treatment matter is allocated to each roll and transmitted to each apparatus. Further, control is carried out by determining the treatment matter at each apparatus, and transmitting the determined treatment result between apparatuses.
