PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument in which a ring formed in the outer circumferential part of a dial so as to rise toward its surface side is illuminated in a decorative manner from a direction along the surface of the dial. SOLUTION: The dial 70 is installed along the rear of a light guide plate 40. In the dial 70, the ring 70c is formed along the outer circumference of a dial 70b, and the ring 70c rises toward the surface side of the dial 70b to be in a cross-sectionally semicircular shape. The ring 70c is exposed to the surface side from an opening 43 in the plate 40 together with the dial 70b. Respective light sources 110 emit light into the opening 43 through the plate 40, and they illuminate the ring 70b to a direction along the surface of the dial 70b.
