PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number plate attaching member hard to be removed, by preventing a conventional, number plate from easily being removed from an automobile and stolen. SOLUTION: This number plate attaching member comprises a flat countersunk head screw 11, a cover member 12, a first seal member 13, and a lid material 14. The cover member 12 has a through hole 12f, an insert hole 12h, and a screw head locking surface 12a, and the thickness W1 is larger than height W0 of a screw head 11a. A screw operating head 16 of the first seal member 13 can be removed. When the first seal member 13 is mounted to the cover member 12 and then the screw operating head 16 is removed from a male screw part 15, the male screw part 15 becomes unremovable. After mounting the number plate, the flat countersunk head screw is hidden by the cover member 12, the male screw part 15 and the lid material 14, and cannot be removed.
