PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control device for a diesel locomotive that is suitable for remote control owing to compactness, easy installation on an existing diesel locomotive and easy resetting of fuel control. SOLUTION: The operation of a diesel locomotive is remote-controlled when it repeats travel in a fixed range, for example, to change freight cars. For fuel control by remote control, an actuator is connected to a governor lever of a diesel engine and is operated by an electric signal. Characteristically, a cylinder 7 that can be held stopped in an intermediate stroke position is connected to the governor lever 3 of the diesel engine via links 5a and 5b, and a position detector 16 is engaged with a piston rod of the cylinder 7 to detect a stroke position of the cylinder. According to a remote signal, the piston rod is moved to and held in a given stroke position.
