PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain outputs with different finishes by a one time manuscript reading operation without the need of a troublesome operation and to quickly redo the process in the case an unintended result is obtained due to a mistaken operation in a complicated finishing process. SOLUTION: In the case a user commands the 'suspension', an image source selecting part 123a selects reuse of the image used for the copying operation immediately before (S26) so that it is displayed on a reuse guidance screen (S27). In the case the user changes the designation of copy setting items, whether or not the set items require a new manuscript reading operation is judged (S28). In the case the manuscript reading operation is judged to be necessary, the process returns to a manuscript reading mode. In the case the manuscript re- reading operation is not needed, according to the selection of the image source selecting part 123a, the image data read immediately before are reused for desired setting items for executing a copying operation.
