PURPOSE: A method for controlling the unbalance state of a washing machine is provided to rinse the laundry in the fresh water in a dehydrating process after a rinsing process is stopped by unbalance by increasing the times of the rinsing process without an unraveling process when unbalance generates in dehydrating, and accordingly to save water, energy, and time without reducing rinsing effects. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the unbalance of a washing machine is composed of steps of setting functions as a washing time, a dehydrating time, and times of rinsing(S110) the laundry; supplying water(S120); washing the laundry after supplying water(S130); discharging washing water(S140); dehydrating the laundry(S150); deciding unbalance in the step of dehydrating the laundry(S160); resetting a rinsing process by stopping the dehydrating step and increasing the times of rinsing set in the step of setting functions when unbalance is decided in the step of deciding unbalance(S161,S162); and rinsing the laundry as many as the times of rinsing set in the step of resetting the rinsing process(S220).
