A vehicular hitch-mountable cargo carrier is provided that comprises general ly a closable carrier having incorporated therein a sleeve for receiving a post. The post forms pa rt of a support which is attachable to a conventional trailer hitch assembly. The cargo carrier is , thus, easily mountable on and removable from the vehicle. The carrier may be provided with a drawer , rear/brake lights, and a lighted licence plate holder and may come in various configurations, depending on the intended purpose.
