PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent which adsorbs hydrophobic materials, particularly hormone-like active substances, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds with high efficiency and easily desorbs these. SOLUTION: The hydrophobic material adsorbent comprises a crosslinked polymer obtained by copolymerizing a hydrophobic non-crosslinkable monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate or styrene) and a hydrophilic crosslinkable monomer (e.g. nonaethylene glycol dimethacrylate).
