METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANAGING DATA IN GAME SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system having a hard disk drive for storing application and other data. SOLUTION: The hard disk drive has a number of areas for storing data of different types. Each application carried out on the game system has a storage area associated on the hard disk drive. A console application carried out on the game system prevents a specified application from gaining access to data in an area not associated with the specified application of the hard disk drive. The game system keeps the list of the latest used nicknames so as to simplify the input of nicknames by a user of the game system.
