PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating wet refuse with a processing agent containing a microbe, in which the wet refuse treating efficiency is enhanced by increasing the agitation effect satisfactorily. SOLUTION: The bottom surface part 16A of a treating vessel 16 is formed to have a horizontal and almost semi-cylindrical shape. An agitation member 18 is constituted of a rotary shaft member 20 extending along the central axis Ax of the part 16A and an agitation blade 22 supported by the member 20. The blade 22 is constituted of a pair of blade parts 22A extending spirally like a double-threaded screw along the surface of a virtual cylinder surrounding the axis Ax and five pairs of arm parts 22B1, 22B2... for connecting the parts 22A to the member 20. Each of the parts 22A is made to have a shape slanted with respect to the tangential direction of the surface of the virtual cylinder and the slanted direction of one of the parts 22A is made reverse to that of the other of the parts 22A. As a result, the processing agent 2 and the wet refuse existing on the inside surface of the part 16A and in its vicinity can be scraped surely by any of the parts 22A even when the member 20 is rotated normally or reversely.
