PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect humidity and temperature of circulating air in a water cooled dehumidifying washing and drying machine with good accuracy. SOLUTION: This washing and drying machine is provided with a water cooled dehumidifying duct 23 extending upward from the lower part of an outer tub 5 to a position higher than the washing water level, and a lowering air duct 25 turned back at the upper end of the water cooled dehumidifying duct and extended downward to a suction port of a circulating fan 26. A humidity sensor 40 and a temperature sensor 41 are provided at the lower part of the lowering air duct 25.
