METHOD FOR PRODUCING CALLUS HIGHLY CONTAINING ERIOCITRIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a callus highly containing eriocitrin, with which a food waste is effectively used and an industrial mass production of the eriocitrin can be readily carried out. SOLUTION: A callus highly containing eriocitrin is produced by subjecting a tissue separated from a rind of a hybrid of Citrus aurantium and lemon to tissue culture in a callus-inducing medium. The callus contains eriocitrin in a high concentration and is extremely readily proliferated by continuing a tissue culture in a callus-inducing medium. The tissue is preferably a tissue separated from a rind of immature fruit. Preferably the tissue is separated from a rind of a hybrid of Citrus aurantium and lemon and 50-100 g/L of sucrose, 0.1-0.3 mg/L of kinetin and 1-3 mg/L of indoleacetic acid are added to the callus-inducing medium.
