<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for separating gases by pressure swing adsorption(PSA), in which the temporal change of the power consumption of a vacuum pump in a PSA apparatus can be minimized and the fluctuation of the load imposed on the power generating equipment can be lessened. SOLUTION: At least one shut off valve 41 is arranged on the evacuating pipelines between adsorption columns 10, 20 and vacuum pumps 32, 33 in this PSA gas separating method so that the gas in any of the columns 10, 20 can be evacuated at least through the valve 41 by changing the opening degree of the valve 41 during the operation of evacuating any of the columns 10, 20 by using the pumps 32, 33.</p> |
