PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small article receptacle which enables the easy inserting and removing movements of objects to be washed without loss of the dischargeability of a washing object and preventing the objects to be washed from coming off the small article receptacle. SOLUTION: The small article receptacle for a dish washer is constituted in such a way as to hold the objects to be washed 12 in a raised attitude in a tubular housing space 9 with a bottom which is provided with a bottom wall part 3 and a side wall part 2 and in which an opening part 4 for insertion and removal for inserting and removing long small articles as the objects to be washed 12 is open at an upper part. An opening part 5 for discharge for discharging the washing object in the shape of a long hole along a circumferential direction is formed in part of the side wall part 2 adjacently above the bottom wall part 3. The cross-sectional area of the housing space 9 close to the bottom wall part 3 is formed smaller than the cross-sectional area of the opening part 4 for inspection and removal.
