PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand drying apparatus by which gas blown from a blowing nozzle or blown-back wind reflected by colliding with inserted hands and a water receiving part and blown-off water can be prevented from splashing to a user and a floor or a wall can be prevented from being contaminated. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for blowing off water stuck on the hands with a high speed wind, a hand inserting part into which the hands are inserted, the blowing nozzle for blowing the high speed wind to the hands, a high speed wind feeding means for introducing the high speed wind into the blowing nozzle, a scattering preventing means for sucking the reflected blown-back wind and scattered water or a scattering retaining means for blowing a curtain-like blowing wind in order to prevent the high speed wind blown from the blowing nozzle, the blown-back wind reflected of the high speed wind by the hand inserting part and the inserted hands, the water stuck on the hands blown off with the high speed wind from being scattered to the surroundings, are provided.
