PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a gene encoding cyprinodont B protein and provide the gene and further provide human and mouse homologous genes of gene encoding the B-protein. SOLUTION: The present inventors carried out positional cloning of B gene in order to attain the purpose and succeed in isolation of a gene encoding the cyprinodont B-protein and completed the present invention. Namely, the cyprinodont B-protein and the nucleic acid encoding homologue thereof are provided in the present invention. A nucleic acid encoding the cyprinodont B-protein described in the sequence number 1 (refer to the specification) and a nucleic acid encoding a mouse B/AIM-1 protein described in the sequence number 3 (refer to the specification) are provided according to the further one side of the present invention. A method for suppressing melanogenesis, characterized by suppressing expression of the gene encoding the B-protein is further provided in the present invention. |
