PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a growing bed for horticulture that has excellent productivity, heat insulation and well-balanced water drainage and retention and is easy to carry and readily applicable because of its light weight. SOLUTION: Granules 3 of foamed synthetic resin are bonded with a binder to form plates 2 having gaps between granules and simultaneously a plurality of depressions 4 are formed on the upper face of the plate 2. In addition, a water-storable vessel 6 is filled with a water-retaining material 7, the vessel 6 is loaded on the depression 4 and the cultivation soil 8 is placed on the upper part of the vessel 6.
