PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for performing a surgical treatment. SOLUTION: This device has an ultrasonic surgical hand piece, a console having a digital signal processor(DSP), an electric connection means for connecting these hand piece and console, and a storage device such as an EEPROM(an electric erasing programmable read-only memory), arranged in the electric connection means or the hand piece. Data of a continuous data shape for recognizing a performance characteristic of the hand piece and a generator is stored in the storage device. The console obtains readout information from the storage device when initializing the system. When these exists proper data, the hand piece is authenticated on use by the console. While, when the data does not exist or is not correct, the hand piece is not authenticated on the use by the console. In a specific embodiment, the data is an enciphered code. |
