PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely change a footrest position in a wheelchair for a patient requiring care such as a physically disabled person and an aged person, particu larly, a wheelchair having a footrest extending downward from the front end of a seating part. SOLUTION: This wheelchair has a first bracket fixed to a seat frame of the seating part, a footrest frame turnably installed on this first bracket or the seat frame, a lever bar suspended by a groove of the first bracket, a second bracket having one end fixed to the lever bar, and having the other end turnably installed on the footrest frame, and a spring interposed between the lever bar and the footrest frame and energizing the footrest frame so as to turn in the lever bar direction. The groove of the first bracket is composed of a plurality of hitching grooves for hitching and fixing the suspended lever bar, and a guiding groove for communicating with respective these hitching grooves, and guiding the lever bar to the other hitching groove by removing the lever bar from the hitching grooves.
