PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire insertion instrument capable of inserting a guide wire into a vessel such as a blood vessel rapidly, easily and safely. SOLUTION: The guide wire insertion instrument is composed of a communication tube 5 formed of a flexible material and a moving member 6 provided so as to be longitudinally movable along the communication tube 5. The movable member 6 is moved from a first position 5a to a second position 5b while compressing and closing the communication tube 5 and blood or the like is sucked into the communication tube 5 from a puncture needle inserted into a blood vessel or the like to confirm that the tip of the puncture needle is present in a vessel such as a blood vessel and, thereafter, the guide wire is inserted from the rear end of the puncture needle. |
