PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing halogenated organic compounds by which an easy operation and a low treatment cost are ensured. SOLUTION: The purpose is attained by using an apparatus for decomposing halogenated organic compounds in waste gas, comprising a blowing unit which blows tri- or tetravalent Mn oxide into waste gas, a collecting unit which collects a mixture containing the blown Mn oxide and a recovering unit which recovers the collected Mn oxide-containing mixture.
