PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter designed not to plant a seedling to be planted by a pair of left and right planting elements inclinedly so that the upper side of the seedling goes transversely inward. SOLUTION: This transplanter is equipped with a pair of left and right planting elements 44 for planting seedlings A after making planting holes U on a ridge R, and an inside soil covering member 125 to pass through the transverse inside and an outside soil covering member 126 to pass through the transverse outside with respect to each planting hole U made by the pair of planting elements 44, wherein the inside soil covering member 125 is disposed somewhat ahead of the outside soil covering member 126 so as to start a soil covering from the transverse inside earlier than the transverse outside of the planting hole U.
