GEL PARTICLE FOR CLEANING SEPARATING MEMBRANE MODULE, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FOR THE SAME AS WELL AS CLEANING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cleaning a membrane module devised to decrease the frequencies of cleaning as well as gel particles for cleaning the separating membrane module and a method of manufacturing for the same. SOLUTION: This cleaning method comprises adding a water absorbing gel consisting of an organic high polymeric compound of a range from 0.9 to 1.25 in the specific gravity in water, 150 to 4,000% in the volumetric swelling degree in the water and 2.0 to 10.0 MPa in compressive yield stress in the water into the liquid to be treated at 3 to 40% of the inside volume of the membrane treating module and fluidizing the mixture to peel and clean the deposits by contact of the water absorbing gel consisting of the organic high polymeric compound, the membrane and the inside surface of the module, thereby preventing the closure of the membrane and preventing the increase of the osmotic pressure of the membrane. The gel particles are exemplified by thermoplastic polyethyleneglycol or thermoplastic polyurethane gels and the like. The gel particles can be manufacturing by melt extrusion molding.
