PURPOSE: A method for transmitting data using a VP/VC(Virtual Path/Virtual Channel) in a mobile communication system is provided to efficiently use the resources of the VP/VC by transmitting the data using a VP/VC value used in a communication between a duplicated main control board in a base station and a BSC(Base Station Controller) as a command value. CONSTITUTION: A duplicated main control board in a base station reads a base station ID from an EEPROM(Electrically Erasable and Programmable ROM), and extracts a temporal VC using the base station ID(S11). The duplicated main control board writes a data header in a payload(S12). The duplicated main control board inserts the extracted temporal VC into the payload(S13). The main control board with an active state reads its slot position number, inserts side information corresponding to the slot position number into the data header, and transmits data to a router(S14). The router receives the payload from the main control board, extracts the temporal VC inserted into the payload, converts the temporal VC into a real routing VC value, and transmits the real routing VC value to a BSC(S15).
