PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to prevent the decrease of aperture rate by forming a black matrix along the shape of wires and thin film transistors. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a first insulating substrate(100), a second insulating substrate(101) coupled with the first insulating substrate, inner surfaces of the substrates facing each other, a plurality of wires(61) formed on the inner surface of the first substrate, a plurality of switching elements(TFT) formed on the inner surface of the first substrate and connected to the wires, a plurality of pixel electrodes(Pi) formed on the inner surface of the first substrate and connected to the switching elements, color filters(110) formed on the inner surface of the second substrate corresponding to the pixel electrodes, common electrodes(120) formed on the color filters, and a display area black matrix pattern(131) formed on the other surface of the second substrate and magnetically aligned with respect to the wires and the switching elements.
