PURPOSE: Provided are a DNA polymerase isolated from Aeropyrum pernix and a method for preparing the same, thereby producing the DNA polymerase having improved thermostability and processivity. CONSTITUTION: The DNA polymerase having improved thermostability and processivity and isolated from Aeropyrum pernix has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. A cDNA gene encoding the DNA polymerase having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2. A method for producing the DNA polymerase comprises the steps of: constructing an expression vector containing the cDNA having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2; transforming Escherichia coli with the expression vector; and culturing the transformed Escherichia coli to express the DNA polymerase, wherein the expression vector is pGEX-Apn.
