PURPOSE: To provide both a fishing rod which is fitted to the hand in gripping and assists hard fighting and a fishing rod to which a fishing reel is firmly fixed and which can deal with hard fighting. CONSTITUTION: The structure of a reel seat 17 for holding a reel is improved. The reel seat 17 is equipped with a skirt part S. The skirt part S has a shape to cover and to be brought into contact with the side part of a leg part 24 and to support the leg part of the reel when the reel is arranged. The skirt part S has desired flexibility.
