PURPOSE: A method for simultaneously providing motion pictures using multi-pumping is provided to allow a plurality of clients to simultaneously access a plurality of motion picture data items. CONSTITUTION: A VOD stream server of a VOD system is connected to a client(401) and generates a disk access thread and a data transmission thread(402). A node corresponding to the client is registered at the disk access thread. The disk access thread performs disk access for the client to read motion picture data from a motion picture database and store the read motion picture data in a transfer buffer(404). The data transmission thread transmits the motion picture data stored in the transfer buffer to the client(406), and then requests the disk access thread to access the next motion picture data. All of motion picture data is transmitted to the client, and then the data transmission thread closes the node when the client wants to be disconnected from the server(412). |
