PURPOSE: A method for assigning a channelization code in a wireless communication system is provided to assign codes for efficiently using wireless resources according to inter-different transmission rate, an inter-different service use frequency, an inter-different use frequency changed in a real time through an IMT(International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000 asynchronous network. CONSTITUTION: If a suitable code number is searched by a retrieval algorithm about a corresponding SF(Spreading Factor), and an assignment procedure processing function is called by using the SF and the code number as factors(301), a channelization code table is used as an index for displaying that the channelization code is assigned(302). The SF and the code number are divided by 2¬N, the SF and the code number corresponding to a quotient are used as the index for displaying the channelization code is assigned in the channelization code table, and the N is repeatedly increased by 1 until the quotient is larger than or same to 0(303). The SF and the code number corresponding to a value in which the SF and the code number are multiplied by 2¬N are used as the index from (SF, code number+1) to (SF, code number+N-1) for displaying that the channelization code is assigned in the channelization code table, and the N value is repeatedly increased by 1 until the multiplied value is lower than or same to 512(304). A processed result about the assignment procedure is returned to an asynchronous network(305).
