PURPOSE: A routing interface device used in an IMT(International Mobile Telecommunications)-2000 base station is provided to efficiently transmit and manage data by adopting the transmission standard of a UTOPIA(Universal Test and Operations PHY Interface for ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode))-2 standard and supporting a plurality of transmission ports in one ATM layer. CONSTITUTION: An ATM layer block(11) connects to a physical layer block(12) by a UTOPIA-2 standard(101), and connects to an other board in the same shelf by a cell bus(103) for transmitting and receiving data. The physical layer block(12) connects to the ATM layer block(11) by a UTOPIA-2 standard(103) and connects to an external device by a transmission port with 25Mbps transmission rates for transmitting and receiving data. An EPLD(Electrically Programmable Logic Device) block(14) alarms the mount and dismount of a logic or a board, and performs the function of an LED(Light Emitted Diode) control logic. A microprocessor block(13) processes control signals about blocks included in a routing interface device, and initializes the ATM layer block(11) and the physical layer block(12).
