An assembly (1) charges and empties an industrial oven as it passes along the front aspect of the oven, under programme control. The novelty is that the assembly (1) incorporates a laser-scanner (14) linked to a detector and warming assembly, which may halt further movement on detection of an obstacle. Pref. three or more laser-scanners (14) are fitted to the chassis (2), each of which scans a sector of from 60-360 [deg], and is positioned ca. 20 cm above the ground. The scan sectors are overlapping. Following a halt in response to an obstacle detected, motion is resumed after operation of a manual switch located close to the central zone of operation. |
