PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device in which occurrence of excessive current flowing in a driver that drives the electrodes of a plasma display panel is surely prevented. SOLUTION: Internal short circuit condition of a column electrode driver is detected based on the current or the potential on the power supply lines within the column driver detected in a light emitting maintaining interval and the power supply is shut down.
