PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the corrosion of the heat transfer surface of a heat exchanger that is installed to a refuse disposal facility or a melting facility for an object to be melted to make heat exchange between an exhaust gas and air when a refuse incinerator or a melting furnace is started or stopped or during the outage period of the incinerator or furnace. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger is composed of a main body 1 in which heat exchange is caused between the exhaust gas G and air A of different temperatures by indirectly bringing the gas G and air A into contact with each other and a warm air heater 2 provided on the air inlet 15c side of the main body 1. When the incinerator or furnace is started or stopped or during the outage period of the incinerator or furnace, the air A heated by means of the heater 2 is made to flow into the main body 1 so as to maintain the temperature of the heat transfer surface of the main body 1 at the dew point of the exhaust gas G or higher. |
