<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome such a problem that a current value varies for disabling usage if the middle electric field region in the voltage V-current I characteristic diagram of zinc oxide elements is used, when suppressing overcurrent by an energy absorption apparatus where a plurality of zinc oxide elements are con nected in parallel. SOLUTION: In the middle electric field region of the voltage V-current I characteristic diagram of zinc oxide elements, the use of zinc oxide elements ZNR1 and ZNR2 having voltage-current characteristics where voltage rises narrows a variation range 1X2 in a current value allows the flow of overcurrent to be uniformly divided into each of the zinc oxide elements ZNR1 and ZNR2, prevents current from being concentrated to the zinc oxide element, prevents the zinc oxide element from being damaged easily, and hence increases the life of the energy absorption apparatus 1 as compared with the conventional technique.</p> |
