PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new one-step method for hybridizing to a target polynucleotide detecting the existence of the target polynucleotide through a homogeneous analysis by forming the hybrid of a polynucleotide compound which can be used as a probe or a reagent, and the target polynucleotide, and to provide the polynucleotide compound. SOLUTION: By using a polynucleotide probe consisting of a polynucleotide compound and at least two components linked to the polynucleotide compound, the existence of a target polynucleotide is detected through a homogeneous analysis by constituting a signal based on the changing in at least one property caused in the polynucleotide compound or the target polynucleotide, or both of them in the hybridation of the polynucleotide compound to the target polynucleotide.
