SILICA-TITANIUM OXIDE COMPLEX SOL COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica-titanium oxide complex sol composition superior in a compatibility with a hydrophilic organic solvent base polymer and the stability of a liquid easy to thicken a film when a thin film is produced and useful for functional improvement in various materials. SOLUTION: The silica-titanium oxide complex sol composition is dispersed in 4-butyrolactone and oxycarboxylic acid. 4-Butyrolactone/titanium oxide (TiO2 ) is 1.5 or more by molar ratio. Oxycarboxylic acid/titanium oxide (TiO2 ) is 0.03-3.0 by molar ratio. Silica (SiO2 )/titanium oxide (TiO2 ) is 3.0-30.0 by vol.%. The complex sol composition is produced by displacing a solvent with 4- butyrolactone after a silicon compound is hydrolyzed in the presence of a titanium oxide sol stabilized by oxycarboxylic acid.
