PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a control of a structure of a diffraction grating and a control of properties of a surface which is contacted with a sample as an optical structure for inducing an evanescent wave in an analyzing element for analyzing a sample utilizing a surface plasmon resonance(SPR). SOLUTION: The analyzing element comprises a plurality of films 3, 4 having at least a metal film 4 and laminated on a substrate 2, and the diffraction grating 5 which can induces the evanescent wave by irradiating with an exciting light and which is formed on a boundary surface or a surface of a front layer between the layers 2 and 3 except the film 4.
