PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for initializing an industrial robot capable of improving the load working efficiency of load data when shipped, and to surely prevent the initializing work of variables from being forgotten. SOLUTION: A specific program having the initializing function of variables and switch data for switching on the specific program are written in load data including system design data and an application program to be loaded to a controller when shipped. When the load data are loaded, the specific program is executed following the load operation of the load data, and variables are initialized so that variable data can be set. The specific program can be provided with not only the initializing function of variables but also the copy function of an operating grogram or the like.
