An ultrawide band (UWB) guidance system has a controller comprising a UWB receiver and a computer (32), located on a drive tower (25). The computer determines the optimal steer angle of the steerable drive wheels of the tower in relation to main boom movement, according to the UWB radio signals from a UWB transmitter (30). The controller positions the drive wheels according to the optimal steer angle.
