PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail system of high entertainingness which can amuse a user when transmitting and receiving electronic mail. SOLUTION: A transmitting device attaches encryption display instruction data including the types of the encryption display of Aburidashi (hidden) cryptographic display as if written in invisible ink, monster language cryptographic display or the like that a sender has selected to electronic mail and transmits it. A receiving device, when it receives the electronic mail with the encryption display instruction data attached, for the Aburidashi cryptograph, displays space text in place of mail text, and, for the monster language cryptograph, translates the mail text into the monster language text to display it. Only when a recipient selects a correct decryption method, the mail text is displayed, and the encryption display is replaced.
