摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of optimizing the size of blocks of coded data for the purpose of subjecting them to iterative decoding. SOLUTION: The method comprises a first step of estimating a resource T, available for decoding blocks of a normal size N and a second step of seeking a block size, which makes possible attaining the least error rate at the output of iteratively decoding among a plurality of block sizes (N/k), which the submultiples of the normal size by an integer factor k not less than 1, requiring on the average a number of iterations ((-)n<(k)> iterations ) which are compatible with the available resource.
