PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recess forming instrument for a concrete pile, which contributes to reduction of cost required for recess formation in an upper portion of the concrete pile, by forming the instrument of component parts which are all reusable. SOLUTION: The almost cylindrical recess forming body 5 is detachably mounted on an upper inner peripheral side of the concrete pile 1 when the concrete pile 1 is inserted into an excavated hole in which uncured concrete C1 is filled, and functions to partially an upper portion of the concrete pile 1. The recess forming body 5 is comprised of an inflatable/deflatable body 12, and an inner cylinder body 10. The inflatable/deflatable body 12 is formed into an inflatable/deflatable annular body and allows its outer peripheral side to be press-fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the concrete pile 1 when inflated, to thereby inhibit the uncured concrete C1 from infiltrating into the concrete pile 1. The inner cylinder body 10 is arranged inside the inflatable/ deflatable body 12, and guides the uncured concrete C1 via its inner side toward an upper portion thereof. The inner cylinder body 10 is comprised of a plurality of cylinder component members 16 which each are arcuately shaped in cross section and openable in a radially outward direction.
